Thank you to all our volunteers, sponsors, and donors!

The generous gift of time and energy from over 100 community volunteers made it possible for the Children’s Garden to be maintained as a beautiful, welcoming, and educational nature oasis for the benefit of all the families, youth groups, and adults that visited this year for self-guided exploration!

Community volunteers are the lifeblood of the Children’s Garden, and the Children’s Garden Committee would like to give special mention to the following individuals and groups:

  • King Co. Master Gardeners, with special thanks to Carolyn, Junko, Lisa, Stacey, Lark, Hyla, Mostafa, Jenny, Valerie, Rebecca, Cristina, Carole, Elisa, Austin, Kate, Karen, Bettina, and Faye;
  • Christina Pfeiffer and staff from Plant Amnesty, Kaleidoscope Inc, and Maple Hill Gardens;
  • Staff and family members from Wells Fargo Bank, with special thanks to Craig and Janelle;
  • D.A. Davidson staff, with special thanks to Thea;
  • Magnuson p-patchers, with special thanks to Dennis, Kathy, Oni, and Mark;
  • Staff and campers from the Seattle Audubon summer programs;
  • Beavers NW staff, with special thanks to Elyssa and Ariana;
  • The Tilth Alliance/Master Composter Program, with special thanks to Reingard and Jessica;
  • The many families who attended our 2nd Saturday stewardship events!

Hundreds of hours of volunteer time and collaborative leadership from the members of the Children’s Garden Committee and its Education Team made it possible to host 20 community stewardship events, 10 free public education events via garden classes, small group field trips, and nature walks, and to accomplish many “behind the scenes” projects.

The generous gifts of funds, sponsorship, and in-kind donations are what makes it possible for the Children’s Garden Committee to purchase what is needed in order to fulfill our mission to provide free public education on gardening and nature, maintain the garden’s health and sustainability, and increase its accessibility!

  • In addition, the WSU/King County Master Gardener Program enables all new and veteran Master Gardeners to fulfill their required volunteer hours in the Children’s Garden, which is a priceless gift;

  • $300.00 in donations from community members to the garden through the Seattle Parks Foundation on GiveBig WA Day, GivingTuesday, and in recurring donations.

Thanks a million to one and all!
