How Can You Help?

The Magnuson Children’s Garden Committee extends a warm welcome to all who would like to help us sustain the garden!

Here are 2 ways you can help:

1) Participate in one of our Garden Stewardship Events:

  • Our events are fun for novice gardeners as well as experienced ones! We provide gloves and tools for all adults and children, and typical activities include simple tasks such as weeding and mulching beds and paths, planting and fertilizing plants, and watering. We also provide refreshments!
  • King Co. Master Gardeners and/or other experienced gardeners are always on hand at each event to guide volunteers, and answer your home gardening questions too.
  • For details on our upcoming stewardship opportunities, visit our Free Events webpage! We may also be able to schedule a free custom stewardship event for your scout, campfire, community, family or corporate group, with a minimum of 9 attendees (3 of which must be adults) and 2 weeks advance notice. For more information, contact us at magnusonchildrensgarden@gmail.com

2) Donate funds or supplies to the garden:

  • We are very grateful for any amount you can donate to help fund our annual events, plant and tool replacement, maintenance of the garden infrastructure, or special projects.  To make a financial contribution, visit our donation page on the SeattleParksFoundation.org website, You can also donate to the Master Gardener Foundation of King County or Magnuson Community Garden, and designate your funds for Magnuson Children’s Garden. Thanks so much!
  • In-kind donations are also very much appreciated! If you have extra garden tools, gloves, plants, art supplies, or other items that you think would benefit the Children’s Garden, please contact us at magnusonchildrensgarden@gmail.com with a description of your donation, and include a photo if possible.  Please do not drop anything off at the Childen’s Garden without contacting us.  We’ll reply right away to let you know if we can accept it, and if so, arrange a time for a Children’s Garden Committee member to pick it up or meet you at the garden for delivery.  Thanks so much!
