Free Events!

We hope that soon we will be able to resume hosting our free, fun, and educational Children’s Garden Events and Nature Walks!

Kids and adults love exploring the worm bin, making nature art, and taking snack walks at our Family Garden Days!
Kids and adults also have fun doing simple garden tasks like re-bedding the worm bin at our stewardship events!
Learn about owls and other nocturnal creatures on our Nighttime Nature Walks!
Getting to know the aquatic invertebrates in pond water samples on our Wetland Walks is an awesome way to “see beneath the surface” of the wetlands!

ALL OF OUR 2020 PUBLIC EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FROM THE STATE OF WASHINGTON, CITY OF SEATTLE, & KING CO. DEPT. OF HEALTH, AND THE WSU/MASTER GARDENER PROGRAM.

HOWEVER, we sincerely encourage you to bring your family to do self-guided exploration in the Children’s Garden and park natural areas during all Magnuson Park open hours. Fresh air and nature is good medicine for body and soul, yet please maintain social distancing during the entire time you are in the park, to keep yourself and others healthy- thanks 🙂

🙂 Once King Co. is approved to move to Phase 4 of the “Safe Start” reopening, we will resume our FREE Family Garden Days and our FREE Nature Walks!

At that time we will also be delighted to resume hosting drop-in stewardship events for families, scout troops and community, or corporate groups to do simple stewardship activities in the Children’s Garden!  Tools, gloves, and refreshments are provided, and your “appreciation gift” always includes a snack walk in our food garden!  🙂

BELOW IS THE LIST OF EVENTS WE HAD PLANNED FOR 2020, AND IF ALL GOES WELL WE WILL BE HOSTING A SCHEDULE LIKE THIS IN 2021!
