FREE Nature Walk in the Children’s Garden has been CANCELLED

April 26 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

SORRY, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO RECOMMENDATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FROM THE STATE OF WASHINGTON, CITY OF SEATTLE, & THE KING CO. DEPT. OF HEALTH.

HOWEVER, we sincerely encourage you to bring your family to Magnuson Park for self-guided exploration of the Children’s Garden and park natural areas. Fresh air and nature is good medicine for body and soul, yet please maintain social distancing during the entire time you are in the park, to keep yourself and others healthy- thanks 🙂

Join us for a Sunday morning nature walk in the Children’s Garden, led by Seattle Audubon Master Birders and Children’s Garden volunteers!

Kids and parents will have fun learning about bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators while exploring the garden and the nearby Magnuson P-Patch!

Did you know that there are bees that are as tiny as a grain of rice, that pollinate many of our favorite food crops?  There is a special, butterfly-shaped Pollinator Garden right in the middle of the Children’s Garden, filled with flowers that attract and feed our native pollinators, and the adjacent Native Plant Border and P-Patch also have beds devoted to pollinator plants.

The walk starts at the Children’s Garden, at the picnic tables near the shed.  The walk will be on a combination of level crushed-rock paths, paved sidewalks, and wood chip paths.

Parking available in the nearby W-6 and W-2 parking lots.  No pre-registration necessary.
